Background

Crittr is an animal welfare and pet care organisation operating with the purpose of improving the lives of animals living amongst humans. They wanted to build a digital ecosystem that would help humans care for animals better.

There is a large community of people who are involved in the world of pet-care. And who doesn’t like looking at pictures of cute pets? By creating ‘Crittr Social’ we provided a space for all those people sharing a common interest to get in touch with one another.

A first time pet parent has a learning curve in pet care. To help them along we introduced a daily step by step interactive guide making it super stress free to take care of pets.

Visual Design

Our Approach

Crittr can bring together everyone from animal care service providers to pet parents. As an app, the design had to address all of a pet’s needs through a single, easy to use platform. It also serves as an emergency rescue service and helps easily adopt and care for strays.


The Goddess Cares

To make the experience more appealing and to encourage brand recognition and retention, we embodied the persona of a Goddess of animals as a brand mascot. This persona led the pet care journey with humility and altruism and a touch of magic.

Animal lovers will always be animal lovers

To make the app appealing to pet parents, we used vibrant colours and imagery that was both friendly and approachable. And of course, loads of animals. We also kept the visual language very desi to give users a more homely and welcoming feel. 





Colour Palette

The organic pastel colour palette complements the Indian tone of the brand. Keeping the Omidyar blue as the primary colour and the pastels are used as accents colours that stay true to the Indian roots.
